Danny Graham to Sunderland


Sunderland have signed Swansea City striker Danny Graham for £5 million.

Graham, 27, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the club and should be available for Saturday’s clash at Reading.


Graham told Sunderland’s official website, “As soon as I heard about the interest from Sunderland, I didn't even have to consider any of the other options that were on the table.”

“I was born and brought up in the North-East so I know first-hand the intense passion that people have for their football in this part of the world - it's special and there's nowhere else like it.”

Newcastle United bagged Massadio Haidara


Newcastle United have signed Massadio Haidara from Nancy for an undisclosed fee.

Haidara is Newcastle's fourth new signing, and he has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal.

The France Under-21 international will wear the No. 19 shirt and may make his debut against Aston Villa.


 Haidara said: "It was the desire of the club to sign me up which was the most important factor. It was nothing to do with the league position. It was really all about the club's desire and willingness to sign me up. Also, I like the club's ambition to strengthen the whole team so we can improve our league position. That's what appealed to me so I didn't hesitate."

Puyol has signed a deal with Barcelona


Carles Puyol has signed a new deal with Barcelona, which ties him to the club until 2016.


The news was announced via a statement on Barca's official website.

"This Tuesday afternoon the Barca captain signed his contract extension that will keep him at the club through June 30 of 2016. "The ceremony was attended by Carles Puyol, his representative, president Sandro Rosell, vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta. The agreement to extend the player's contract was made public on December 18. Puyol's contract was set to expire on June 30 of 2013.

Chelsea retain Ashley Cole


Chelsea have confirmed Ashley Cole had signed a one-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

His previous deal was set to expire at the end of the season and at one stage Cole was expected to leave the Champions League holders, but now he will be with team till next year.


However the 32-year-old, who had been linked with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, has agreed fresh terms at the club he joined from Arsenal in 2006.

Cole said: "I am pleased I will be starting my eighth season at Chelsea.

"I wanted to stay at Chelsea because we are always fighting and challenging for trophies. That desire and the will to want to win things have not gone."

Paris Saint-Germain forward Nene wants to move


Nene has shown his interest for Qatari-club Al Gharafa and confirmed he will leave Paris Saint-Germain  for the club.

The Brazilian forward has been out of favour at the club due to club’s spending, which has included the addition of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Nene’s countryman Lucas Moura.

He has been discussing his options with a number of clubs, and confirmed he had been close to a return to Brazil with Santos before being offered a reportedly lucrative deal by Al Gharafa.


 Nene said: “I have reached an agreement with Al Gharafa. It was difficult. I always had this dream of going to Brazil and the team of my family. It was almost completed with Santos, but it has not happened.

“These are things that happen once in a lifetime. I do not know if people will understand. I'll be 32 in July, the time passes quickly. I thought about my future, my family. That's why I'm going.''

Joey O'Brien has signed a new deal with West Ham


Joey O'Brien has signed a new contract with West Ham which will keep him at the club until 2016.

O'Brien played at Bolton and was brought to the squad by the Hammers boss in 2011.


O'Brien, 26, has played 16 times in this season and scored twice. He was also part of the side that helped clinch promotion from the Championship last term.

The club announced: “West Ham United are pleased to announce that Joey O'Brien has signed a new contract with the club until summer 2016.”
